Superintendent George W. Friday is the Founder and Pastor of Open Door Ministries Institutional Church of God in Christ, based in Petersburg, Virginia. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, he was raised in the traditional Church of God in Christ and has served faithfully in ministry and humanitarian work for over three decades.
Following 12 years of honorable service in the U.S. Army, Superintendent Friday transitioned to full-time ministry. He was ordained in 1985 and is widely respected for his anointed preaching and teaching. Known as the “Nugget Preacher,” he has written over 125 spiritual insights and continues to encourage believers with messages of truth and hope.
His passion for community impact led to the founding of the Supreme Humanitarian Assistance Relief Program (SHARP) and the Paulette and George Friday Scholarship Foundation. He has served veterans, the homeless, and underserved youth, and remains active in civic leadership and charitable initiatives across the Tri-Cities area.
Superintendent Friday is married to Missionary Paulette Friday, and together they have two children and one grandchild.

Paulette Friday is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. She is the Assistant Pastor and First Lady of Open Door Ministries where her husband, Superintendent G. Wesley Friday, is the pastor. She is the 3rd generation of COGIC in her family.
Assistant Pastor / First Lady Paulette Friday was ordained as an Evangelist in the Forth Jurisdiction of COGIC under the leadership of Bishop G. Wesley Hardy. She is anointed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Assistant Pastor Paulette Friday was appointed chairperson of the Virginia 4th Ecclesiastical Scholarship Committee. She was also appointed as COGIC Director of Women in Pakistan under the leadership of Bishop James Speight.
Assistant Pastor Paulette Friday received a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Juvenile Justice from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. Assistant Paulette Friday also received a M.Ed. Degree in School Guidance and Counseling from Virginia State University. She currently works as a School Counselor.
She is married to Superintendent G. Wesley Friday. They have a son, Asa.

the regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4 and is given to believers who ask for it.
that water baptism is a command and should be performed by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ
